#ArtBreak before bed?

Victor Zaretsky was a Ukrainian artist, born in 1925 and dying in Kyiv in 1990. His life spanned truly difficult periods, and his art varied between realist, expressionist, and dissident Soviet (including a mural style not included below). Bottom right is one of his self-portraits. He did a lot of portrait studies, with a focus on colour, mosaics, and striking faces.

He reminds us to keep expressing ourselves in whatever medium is called for by our times.
