I was thinking what #SciFi stories one could read to celebrate the #Apollo11Landing anniversary.

Clarke's A Fall Of Moondust, Sentinel, and Heinlein's TMIAHM, *of course*.

Niven did a Gil The Arm story on the moon.

MacBride Allen's Farside Cannon? Possibly. Maybe a stretch.

I think that Allen Steele had some, but I don't remember off the top of my head.

Weir's Artemis is alright, and notable for being one of only a few authors where the U.S.A. is *not* the dominant country in space.

I have enjoyed re-watching Apollo 13 several times, but I've tried not to overdo it.

There's always 2001: A Space Odyssey, of course, which is nearly on point.

I haven't watched Star Cops in years, and that was an interesting attempt at a realistic moon base.

What with all of the fuss and having to be the IT-savvy person that explains to friends and relatives what CrowdStrike was all about I totally missed that today was the anniversary of the NASA landings on Luna.

(Gah! The relative who kept getting the name wrong now has me doing it! I'd much rather be talking about the engineering that got us to Luna than the engineering that sent out a duff "channel file" today.)

Happy Moon Landing Day!
I've been rewatching "Chasing the Moon" from PBS American Experience.
If you haven't watched it, watch it today with your family. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KrqfrmOqt0&t=1s
What amazing things we humans can do.
But sadly, Republicans have now put U.S. science in peril & have made scientists targets.
