Oh, right!
I got the (initial) funding put together. The foundation is going down before December. Basically as soon as my friend's backhoe gets out of the shop (that's 2 minutes from my house) we're driving it over and digging a hole, and the next day I'm calling in for some concrete.
That's why the sudden hardware store. Because I need to get the base of it prepped.
So guess what. It's tower time here.

denisAdded a 10ft section to the #antennatower - just used a ladder and some rope to pull it up. Was relatively painless. Current total height is 17ft. 15-year old kid (6’2”) for scale. #hamradio #yeah!
One tiny step closer: connected the 3” conduit to the #antenna tower electrical box- that was easier than expected 😂 3” conduit is not that flexible over short distances… #hamradio #antennatower #someday…
Victory! Finally got all three ground anchors for my #hamradio #antenna tower into the ground. The formidable 3/4" x 6" x 66" Helical Auger Anchor was no march for the versatile 8ft “heavy duty” t-post. First I loosened the soil a bit, then the first 2 or 3 feet went in relatively easy by using some 1” pvc pipe through the hole. That’s about where they got stuck. There was enough bite though to twist it further with the t-post. Yay! #antennatower #farmlife?
