Doing a little bit of Minecraft / Cobblemon this morning before the Power Rangers game. Its a custom modpack based on All the Mods 10 with a few other mods like cobblemon added in. I'm Checking on my automations, its been a couple of days since I was last on and need to make sure nothing is overflowing. So far so good.

Looking for Help with #moddedminecraft #minecraft #AllTheMods #AllTheMods9 - Recommended memory amount like, 8-12 GB yeah? I've been running a server for me and 15 of my closest friends, and I can't figure out why it's running out of memory and riding the GC so hard that the server's watchdog restarts it for not responding. With 32GB of RAM and no players since boot.

I've tried #Java 17 and 21, switched between G1GC and ZGC, Installed mods like Adaptive Performance Tweaks, Canary, and MemoryLeakFix, I can not figure out why it's dying so hard.

Any and all help would be super appreciated. Thanks!

I wanted to start building EpicEnchants' awesome Endermen farm yesterday evening, but instead I started setting up the awakening altar because I really want that alloy paxel so badly. I guess it makes more sense to get all those gems afterwards anyways so I can socket them in. This post might make sense to you if you play #minecraft #atm9, my favourite modpack so far.

Starry Bee obtained!

As of this morning I have completed the task of crafting 18 ATM Stars! Which means I can now automate ATM Star Shard generation!

What a trip this has been. My Starry Bee is happily working away in my simulated bee farm and is generating ATM Star Shards already.

And now I need to convince myself that I don't need to do that "But... why?" quest. Just need to craft an ATM Star Block 9x for that one. Let's do some quick spreadsheet math to see how many Shards that will be...

And I thought the emeralds were insane? And also 21 billion Patrick Stars.

Nope. Not going to happen. I'll let the server run for a little longer but there's no way I'm grinding out this many.

Let's find another mod pack to play through!

Now that the "end" of All The Mods 8 is in sight...

I'm looking for suggestions for other modpacks to play. This will be in a small private SMP environment. Although it will likely be mostly me working through quests solo.

What I really connected with in ATM8 was the automation parts. It reminded me of my favorite parts of Factorio and Techtonica. But I'm definitely open to other experiences as well.

So please toss your favorite or memorable modpack suggestions my way!

9 ATM Stars! Which means I can finally get the Patrick Bee producing the Patrick Star piece!

I'm at a pace of about 1 star per day. The factor of that flapping between emerald production and nether star production. It almost feels unbalanced how many of those it takes to complete each star compared to all the other resources.

First ATM Star was crafted on Monday. The second was crafted on Thursday. And since Monday I've made good progress on automating and productionizing many of the components. I'm down to just a few that require manual work and some of those I'm just leaving manual and farming everything I'll need for 18 stars.

However, the more pressing issue is that the server is now crashing on a daily basis. Looking at the last few crash reports I think the Mekanism fluid pipes are the cause. It is pretty well known in the ATM community that Mekanism pipes can cause lag on large servers. Since I'm running on a repurposed Chromebox with 8GB of RAM it doesn't surprise me that's what is going on.

So today's task is replacing as many of the low volume/high distribution fluid pipes with Pipez pipes. Hopefully that will give the server enough life span to craft a few more stars.

At this point it's down to when I lose interest in continuing this endeavor. I have the possibility of other servers to play on. Or I could move over to Stardew Valley. Or I could invest in a hardware upgrade and move the server to new hardware or progress to ATM9. Will see what feels right.

Success! My very first ATM Star crafted!

The final tipping point was adding resonant integral components to all my phytogenic insolators in my "super farm".

This means I now move on to automating as much of the star creation as possible so I can aim for 18 stars. This is the number required to get the Starry Bee working and farming star shards.
