This is a Variegated Fritillary Chrysalis. It appears to have woven silk thread around the plant leaves, somewhat loosely enclosing it in an outer cocoon while it transforms into a butterfly. The golden spikes on the chrysalis are captivating in real life. Much brighter and sparkle more than what is shown in every picture I’ve taken of them. This is the second example I’ve seen of this cool creature and I feel like it’s a great example of “crazy nature.”

Bumblebee doing what bumblebees do. Drinking nectar and collecting pollen. I like the texture and stripes of its abdomen. Also the Yellow and Purple colors are pleasing together.

“Final Resting Place” A deceased ant lays on a leaf after, I presume, a life of hard work. There was something white next to it. I’m guessing either fluff from a wooly aphid or maybe fungus.

Graphocephala versuta is a species of sharpshooter in the family Cicadellidae. Also just commonly called Leafhoppers. I think this is my best photo of one to date, and fortunately it had rained the day before so I got some cool water droplets on the leaves.

Eris Militaris, I believe it was a male because the thorax was slimmer. I watched this spider stalk a little gnat that kept on landing on the same 3 leaves including this one. Everytime the spider got close the gnat would fly to another leaf. In this instance the spider had decided to ambush it by closing the distance on the other side of the leaf (very smart.) but the gnat had already flown away by the time he peaked over the leaf. I’m sure he didn’t go hungry though, he was too persistent.
