In looking over the accepted conference presentations, they are overwhelmingly from industry leaders, related to the latest slew of code changes across materials and standards, or sponsored by existing #structuralengineering committees.

While yes, there are a number of conferences aimed at “digital” practitioners in #AEC #aectech, I still think something needs to be done to bring the rest of the #design professional world along, but it seems like they’ll only be dragged kicking and screaming.

All this to say, I’m bummed 🤷🏼‍♀️. I worked with two practicing #engineers to make sure the proposal was accessible and relevant (I’m aware these days of how in the weeds I am in #software practices, as I’m about 80/20 software/#structural engineering).

However, every time I feel a twinge about leaving the #AEC #design industry, or someone asks me why I didn’t fight to stay in it, I’ve got yet another data point of that the industry isn’t buying what I’m selling. 🤷🏼‍♀️ #structuralengineering #aectech

Real-time #designs with #circularbuildingmaterials??

Happy to be able to share some of the work I did with @[email protected] on connecting #materialbank databases in the Netherlands to #structuraldesign tools with the #SupplyAndDemand project

My husband has been wrestling with structural engineering software lately and challenged me to rotate this element grid using only the mouse so that the y axis pointed up.

I failed miserably. 😆🤦‍♀️🤬

I’m about to get on a flight to SF and I’d just like to remind all the tech people that think we’re so close to delivering all #aec projects IN THE #CLOUD that this is still common practice. (Image of rolled up #architecturedrawing set) #aectech #builtenvironment #architecture
I've been playing around with @[email protected]'s @[email protected] viewer inside @[email protected] hook and class components this week. Biggest thing that threw me for a loop were the React v18 changes for mounting components twice in development mode🤦#aec #builtenvironment #aectech #opensource https://t.co/kGG47GgIcR

Time to talk #BlenderBIM? Here's your chance. #osarch is hosting an informal chat for exchanging experiences with BlenderBIM bringing more #opensource & #libresoftware to #aectech

This will be hosted by @theoryshaw founder of @Opening_Design

This week I took an #IFC model into @[email protected], then used the #EC3 api to look at the closest geographic wood/steel/concrete/masonry products and do some carbon calcs.
