This Is My GlasgowSaint David's Parish Church in the Merchant City area of Glasgow. More commonly known as the Ramshorn Kirk, it was built in 1824 by architect Thomas Rickman in the Gothic Revival style. The church closed in the 1980s, and it's now part of Strathclyde University.

schneckenhausDas Erechtheion auf der Akropolis vereint in seiner Architektur mythische und historische Schätze Athens. Erbaut um 421 v. Chr. am heiligsten Ort der Stadt, beherbergt es Schreine für Athena und Poseidon sowie das Grab des mythischen Königs Erechtheus. Die berühmten Karyatiden - sechs weibliche Figuren als Säulen - tragen seitlich das Dach und verkörpern ionische Eleganz. Ein Erdbeben im 19. Jhd forderte ihren Ersatz durch Kopien, Originale ruhen im Museum. Die unregelmäßige Form folgt dem unebenen Gelände und integriert Olivenbaum und Salzwasserquelle der Legende.

Where does it lead to? Who uses it? What is its purpose? Maybe it's just a emergency exit, just in case; but then again, the other wing doesn't have one.
