I was hoping to take my new 110 year-old #vintagecamera for a test run on the Cabo De Gata coast.

My #zebradryplates arrived, as did four additional film holders. I restored the holders and fitted new light seals. I was worried that the 2mm thick dry plates may not fit, but with a bit of jiggling they went in fine.

Then disaster. The tripod socket does not fit. My 3/8” adapter goes in a few turns, but no more. So the test shoot is on hold until I fathom out what is going on and fix it. Grrr.

Having recently said that I had no intention of buying a #largeformat camera, I might have done so! I believe that 9x12cm is large-format?

My "new" #vintagecamera was made in France circa 1915. Crafted in mahogany, it features an elegant burgundy leather bellows and an H. Duploich Rectiligne Extra Rapide lens, manufactured in Paris, and a Bausch & Lomb shutter (Rochester, USA). All mechanical parts are in good working order.

I have ordered #zebradryplates. More photos and updates soon...

The #ZebraDryPlates have quite a lot of docs and experience stuff using HC-110, which is not a developer I've ever used. I've tried to avoid HQ developers for a while now but decided, since my rodinal failed, HC-110 would be a good replacement, and it'd mean I could get some experience with the zebra plates with a known dev time (so I know when it's my exposure that's the problem).
I have a feeling this bottle will be with me for a very very long time.

I recently got the intrepid 4x5 enlarger light. Not used in anger yet, but I decided to use it to rescan all my old 4x5, and recent glass plates. I've ever liked my old 4x5 scans, but these all came out much better, so I've given them the #darktable treatment. First is a #ZebraDryPlates in #fx55, the rest are all #fomapan100 in #rodinal or fx55. Many had really poor exposure, but we're rescuable.

Not really a great way to show these off, but anyway. I did a couple of contact prints from my first glass dry plate. I really love the prints. Now, I didn't put loads of effort in when I scanned the plate originally, but these contact prints are just straight prints, no dodge/burn, just a tweak on the grade.

New project: shooting wee glass plate negatives in a Hasselblad cut film back. First test plates shot and developed today. “Scans” fresh out of the wash. #filmphotography #hasselblad #zebradryplates
