Here's an example on how #Beijing tries to silence #media (#RTHK in this case) and a #journalist who simply used a publicly accessible data base of number plates to uncover who was behind sending white-dressed #Triads thugs to beat up pro-#democracy protestors at #YuenLong MRT station.
While #BaoChoy was not sentenced to a jail term, the hefty fine certainly serves as an intimidating warning to investigative journalism in all of #HongKong.

That violence was one-sided, from #Triad #thugs that were not bothered by the cops. First let the protestors get beaten, then outlaw the protest. Has anyone checked if the attacking thugs in white shirts speak #Cantonese (as people in #HongKong do) or #Mandarin? That would be a giveaway on where those thugs came from - *mainland* #authoritarian shithole #China that is. #YuenLong is where #Beijing has shown that it's more than willing to cooperate with #triads to smash #civicrights.
