I did it! My first complex-ish knitting project (2nd project ever, after a scarf). I learned SO MUCH just with this one project!

He’s not perfect. In fact, he has lots of little flaws (he’s just like me 😭), but I love himb!

His name is Chuck and he is friend.

Elephant friend now has legs!

He is taking so much longer than I would have thought, about 12ish hrs so far. A lot of that time has been spent stopping to watch videos of how to do things though, since this is my first real knit project.

Progress on my elegant baby. I feel like I’ve made HUGE strides in my knitting skills in the time between knitting the head (which was a learning struggle) and the body (which went much more smoothly).

More progress on #GoodOmens #Crowley Scarf/Tie. Knitting is done, did a wet blocking which really loosened it up and made it SOOO SOFT. Then did a Steam Block & Iron to get rid of the last of the curl and get the folded look.

The scarf is now drying again before the finishing (metal tassel) touches can be added.

So far, I’ve experimented with four different types of knitting stitches and I think I’ve decided that #Crowley’s scarf is a Stockinette stitch (not shown in video).

Working on that today with a Cast On of 10 this time. Might still be too wide. I think a CO8 would have been closer, but I’m too many hours in to redo it again now lol. I’ll at least finish this one and maybe make another after.

(I’ve been #knitting now for less than a week, so advice is welcome 😅)

New 100% Viscose yarn for #Crowley scarf attempt two has arrived! It’s so shiny and so, so soft. I could pet it all day.

Attempt one at making a #Crowley necklace scarf thing. (Chains for the tassels arrive Friday)

Note: this is my first attempt to crotchet anything. It’s….not great. But I learned a lot and am getting better yarn for attempt two. Attempt 1 is scratchy and stiff and I dislike that.

For attempt 2, I am going to be using 100% Viscose yarn. I spent HOURS online and that is the best recommendation I’ve found for it.
