So far, I’ve experimented with four different types of knitting stitches and I think I’ve decided that #Crowley’s scarf is a Stockinette stitch (not shown in video).

Working on that today with a Cast On of 10 this time. Might still be too wide. I think a CO8 would have been closer, but I’m too many hours in to redo it again now lol. I’ll at least finish this one and maybe make another after.

(I’ve been #knitting now for less than a week, so advice is welcome 😅)

@iamtheyellowbox You could try I-cord? Because Crowley’s scarf looks like it’s a tube, so knitting I-cord would take care of that, and you wouldn’t need to sew the edges together when you finish. And then you can just keep knitting stockinette all the time because you don’t need to turn the work around.

How to Knit I-Cord

An i-cord is a tube of knitted fabric that’s created by working a small number of stitches on double-pointed needles or a short circular needle. In this video, knitting expert Corrina Ferguson…

@iamtheyellowbox Although, now that I looked at the reference closer, it’s NOT a tube, it has edges. The tassels at the end just sort of fold it in two.
@tikli Oooh! The I cord thing looks fun to try! But yeah, I don’t think that’s quite right for this scarf or for the yarn I got. The yarn is definitely bigger and fuller than it should be, but the color is so good that I’m trying to make it work anyway 🤣
@iamtheyellowbox Yep, the yarn in the actual scarf is so thin it’s probably machine knitted.
@tikli Ohhh, that’s a good point. I didn’t think about the fact that machine knitting was a possibility. Lol.
@iamtheyellowbox stockinette is very common for scarves and the such because it lays flat, but! It will curl in on itself so make sure to add a fringe so it doesn't curl
@oopsydoodles I did wet blocking after I finished this attempt (that was what Google recommended to stop the curling). It’s drying now, so we’ll see how it went in the morning.
