@lerothas We are very excited to see how #XApps grow and evolve going forward. #Budgie Desktop doesn't have its own set of applications like #XFCE, and #Plasma do, so having an agnostic set of applications to use with Budgie is very desirable, as many of the programs shipped with Budgie are #GNOME apps that have been ported to GTK4/libAdwaita. While this is most noticeable on Budgie, the XApps initiative can help all desktops move forward, making the entire desktop ecosystem better.

Linux Mint Takes Over Development of Timeshift

Linux Mint is taking over development of Timeshift, the popular open-source backup tool it ships with out of the box. Anyone familiar with Mint will be familiar with the utility. Timeshift is, as the distro’s own lead Clement Lefebvre says in the latest monthly update, a central plank in the system’s backup and update ‘strategy’. Sadly, as happens, the original creator of Timeshift is unable to continue working on it due to other responsibilities. Not keen to see it stagnate, Mint ‘got in touch with him’ to see if they could help. Long story short, Linux Mint is assuming maintenance

If you’re half as forgetful as I am then you’ll… —Nope, sorry; I’ve forgotten where I was going with this, so let’s talk about Linux Mint’s neat sticky notes app instead. I used to use real post-it notes in real life. A ton of them. I’d use them remind me to buy cat food, put the bins out, and unclog the sink. But most of my sticky notes ended up face down on my desk, dog eared and ignored (or, on more than one occasion stuck to the back of the cat 💁🏻‍♂️). These days I keep on top of
