Under unoptimized MOCVD conditions for #GalliumNitride regrowth, interesting parasitic growth occurs on the SiO2 surface, showing hexagonal structures typical of #Wurtzite crystals.

I've been playing around last week with wurtzite structures for ZnO modeling (secret project huhu, will not tell more).

I've been stumbling across this (nearly 5yo) blog post by Dr. Frank Hoffman: https://crystalsymmetry.wordpress.com/2018/12/02/wurtzite-in-solid-state-chemistry-textbooks/

Apparently most wurtzite structure representations are *wrong* wrt. proper symmetry representations.
