Wrote a fun, possibly silly scene today where Yves's twin tries to fool Bex into thinking he's Yves and gets met with, "You may be identical, but you don't actually look alike."
And he's like, "Sure. But you realize OUR PARENTS can't tell us apart?"
And he offers a bet: if he can fool other people who know both of them, she'll have to tell Yves why she's paid enough attention to either of them to spot the differences.
In a conversation today with a #Tech person, I was reminded of a funny #Editing story from a job I used to work.
Years ago, I edited a corporate training company's 900-page courseware catalog. There was one #UNIX training course where we had the same issue every year with the wording, and the same request to the Course Developer: "Can we please, please, PLEASE change the wording here?"
One of the bullet points listed in the "What you will learn:" section of the "Course Description" was...
"How to take a stand-alone dump." 😄

Journal Prompt of the Day
“Tell me a story that everyone in your family knows and tells over and over.”
I’ll put mine in the comments.

I love learning the collective nouns for things. Today I learned a group of frogs can be called an army or a knot. I will probably use 'knot' for the children's book. I do like army of frogs though. I can just imagine a batallion of amphibians in battle armour. Plus it would make a great band name.
Look me in the eye and tell me this isn’t true
How many people #mastodon are interested in reading #flashFiction or #MicroFiction on their feeds? I see a lot of #poetry, but not a lot of non-poetry writing - especially #sff (which I would like to see more of)
Anyone else? Or is it just me who enjoys reading and writing short fiction?
