I find it so difficult to figure out what to say in these posts, which is why I’ve had inconsistency issues in the past. Yes, being exhausted and stressed with the everyday struggle of survival doesn’t help, but that’s not everything. One thing my head keeps going back to is a simple idea that should help with these posts: “Just put out there what you’d like to see from other writers.” I guess one of my problems is I don’t tend to find myself hunting for tidbits from my favorites, so it makes me feel like I lack a basic framework for what I should be doing with social media when it comes to my writing.
It’s alright, I’ll keep at it and get better.
I am going to shoot for one to two posts a week (I know, that’s nothing when it comes to the wild world of social media), whether I just drop a couple of sentences to show that I’m still within the confines of this dimension, or I dive into something longer, like character lore, how my book ideas spawned, my big series plans, or how Vampire Hunter D is one of my favorite characters in fiction. For now, my plan is also to not have much behind my Substack subscription paywall, as I’m working hard to plot out a whole series while also wondering if I need to find a part-time job to give my strapped finances some sort of breathing room.
All that said, I’ve had some coffee, I’ve got some music going (Yama’s Versus the Night album at the moment), I think it’s time to shoot this blog post out into the void hoping it reaches my dear readers (present and future), and work on plotting Chapter 4 of Shadowed Memories: Dark Shadow Volume 3. Maybe I’ll have to talk more about that in the next post…

One of my favorite podcasts covered The Warrens, the couple who's stories spawned a huge horror universe from The Conjuring movies, to The Nun, and of course The Amityville Horror. If you know me, you probably know that I love horror movies, and I do enjoy these flicks, but I do get annoyed with the way they are portrayed as reality...that said, Stuff You Should Know does a great job of going through the claims presented by The Warrens (which are covered in the films) and breaking down reality (like I didn't know they actually went to a writer to work up the story used in the first Conjuring movie, and the writer was interviewed and of course said how of course everything is all made up). Love the movies, annoyed with how people take them as true occurrences, instead of, "strange things happen, that were unexplained," or, "some people have undiagnosed conditions and need actual help, not religious intervention," etc. The podcast is worth a listen, and can be found all around (I personally use Pocket Casts on android to listen to stuff).
