So something I like doing in stories that have multiple love interests (at least intentionally) is I love throwing one that is just there to throw everything into chaos in the name of self-interest. It just makes it fun to write scenarios.

You know, something I never considered in a fantasy world is when it comes to armor, how would a male blacksmith take the measurements of a woman? Like is it just accepted that it would happen or would there be hesitation from both sides.
