Lately I've been getting messages from people seeking to fill positions, starting with a job title, location, and request for my resume.

I ask for details including pay range (which California law has required disclosure of for >2 years already). Yesterday, as typical, I got details but had to ask again for pay info.

The person wanted to be a middleman, offering basically entry level pay or about half of what the role's fair market value.

These crummy recruiters seem to be almost exclusively Indian, in or from India. (I don't want to seem racist, but the correlation seems pretty clear.)

They work through agencies whose names are becoming familiar to me. (I'd love for LinkedIn to allow me to block messages from anyone associated with particular company names.)

Workers beware.
