It's a little bit of a drag that they've made this decision about #dolmenwood. People who have been looking forward to using that setting with #OSE now have an extra ruleset lying around.

I really like the modular, small-book format they've been using, and Dolmenwood's #wintersdaughter fits in great with that. This change will certainly break that modularity.

I don't imagine this will be good for sales of the current OSE ruleset, either.

I can't speak for the #grimdark folks, but I sure love it. One of my favorite features of that economic aesthetic is that Gavin Norman seems committed to always putting everything you're likely to need on a single, 2-page spread. I haven't yet had a chance to use it at the table, but I expect that will speed things up.

Also had a chance to read #WintersDaughter from OSE's #dolmenwood setting. Its style manages to preserve the overall OSE aesthetic without being particularly cute.
