I amplify ideas, not whole ideologies. Interpret with care.

Navigate thoughtfully.

Violence is not inherent to freeing ourselves from oppression:

My correspondent below makes the argument that any effort by an exploited class to end its exploitation will necessarily be violent. People will want revenge. It will be bloody. The poor will rise up against the rich and murder them; all we have to do is look at an historical example like, say, the Romanovs of Russia to see that this is true. But is it? https://phpc.social/@chrastecky/111136122961496278 1/ #thread

The Busy World of Richard Scarry can claim root responsibility for two things in my life:

- my love of ‘How It’s Made’

- my solidarity with the working class

life can be a lot

you don’t need to be productive all the time

you don’t have to accomplish things to deserve rest

remember to make the time to just stop

just exist

just be

there’s wonder in the world if you let it find you

it’s your life

you’re allowed to enjoy it 🩷

Once more—but this time with feeling.
Please do not gaze upon my works and despair! I worked really hard on them

Did the lead in the gasoline make everyone forget that Britain never really stopped being exactly what it always was? They just outsourced.

I’ll lay it down in an even layer. You’ve no doubt all heard of ‘The Ministry of Truth’ from that oft-quoted, charming title 1984. That was / is the #BBC..

Did you think imperialism wasn’t all siphoning information and spewing disinformation for the empire?

Let’s ask the Orwell Foundation:

"George Orwell worked for the #BBC in 1941-1943…writing and programming what was essentially propaganda for broadcast to the Indian subcontinent at a crucial time during the war."

George Orwell at the BBC | The Orwell Foundation

On Tuesday 7th November a statue of George Orwell was unveiled in the piazza of the BBC’s New Broadcasting House by Baroness Whitaker and Orwell’s son, Richard Blair. The statue, which is the work of sculptor Martin Jennings, was commissioned and paid for by the George Orwell Memorial Fund. The soft power of Brittania is seemingly very alive in the minds of America. Dashing tiny teacups and silly little hats with ‘pips and cheerios’, and occasionally a ‘u wot m8’ around the edges quickly interrupted by the Dame Maggie Smith probably baking something for The Queen.

Mr. Darcy is there.
