#Jesus take the wheel : the various sects of #Presbytarians ( even the #Kirk ) had a declining congregation in #Whithorn #Wigtownshire in #DumfriesAndGalloway #Scotland ), so the #church was closed in 1947 and converted into a repair and petrol #garage

This has since expanded to a white building on the right, the former church now appears to be used for #MOT testing bays and extra vehicle ramps.

As #Scotland was still quite #religious then, the faithful must have still had nearby churches (there seems to be another 0,5 km away) - although this also shows just how long ago #cars also started to become objects of worship across Britain!

A VIRTUAL TOUR OF SCOTLAND

We take a boat west from St Ninian's Cave across the mouth of Luce Bay to the Mull of Galloway, the craggy punctuation point that brings the Rhins of Galloway to an abrupt end; and Scotland's most southerly point. The image shows the Mull of Galloway lighthouse. More pics and info: https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/drummore/mullofgalloway/index.html
