Sam Diminich, restauranteur volunteering to feed volunteer teams at a "base camp":
"The emotional part was just seeing the best of humanity." I heard multiple people say they hadnβt eaten [much] in two weeks..." "To do a week where we served 5,000 meals and to go into the next week where you still need 5,000 more meals... that says a lot about what we have going on up there."

Weeks or months are needed to get clean water into most effected houses. Kaye Holcombe says she and others effected are in survival mode, shock. National Guard soldiers working in the disaster zone have been getting a lot of hugs. Donations continue to flow in, but more are needed.
