The Little WarsThere were plenty of people in #NC who did support the cause of the Confederacy but actually they spent most of their time locking up draft dodgers in Guilford or hunting down Copperheads everywhere else in the state. It made the whole state such a hilarious non-factor in the civil war.
It has been haunted since by the losers, yes. "I am mad you won that argument" was a motivating factor for atrocities in Wilmington and Greensboro for at least a century afterwards. But in NC #history it was always an internal argument and no one was able to spare anything to help Virginia because it was always "look, I gotta deal with these Quakers and also everyone deserted."

EdgeMissed the new #drought map yesterday (way to go, Texas!) and my #NC has slipped into a deeper category for a larger section of the state.
The entire state remains in drought, but has expanded areas of "extreme" and "exceptional" drought, the two red colors.
Colorado and others are still suffering, but large swathes of the country are completely out of drought. And California! Wow.
A little rain today, more forecast for next week.
