Riding a vintage 3-gear bicycle on rural paths with stiff headwind and slightly uphill is no fun.

But I did it, and I didn't have to make sense of rural bus lines and their bogus schedules.

I did a short hike/bike to this lovely little pond today. It is called Mathisleweiher ("Mathisle's pond") and it's about 100m higher than my place, so I had to get off my bike for about half the way there - just too steep... The way back home was a breeze!

Took a short dip in there, too; I didn't dare to stay in for an actual swim because it's quite deep, and thus very cold.

It was lovely to hear the wind singing in the trees, though, and it was very quiet.
