The reason this dingo is this week's Weird of the Week is because it's a cute lil fluffball that you want to give all the treats to except you can't because it'll rip your face off.

Every fibre of your being is saying "go on, just one little scritch behind the ears" but at the same time you know you want to keep your fingers.

It’s the cognative dissonance. That’s the weird thing.

This ridiculously picturesque spot that looks like it belongs to some South Pacific island is, in fact, Lake MacKenzie, a freshwater lake on K’gari filled entirely by rainwater.

It’s also nowhere near as warm as it looks. Not pictured: me wearing jeans and a jumper.

Somehow Erin still managed a lil swim despite the fact that the sand was LITERALLY COLD TO THE TOUCH.

This cheeky little bugger thought I wouldn’t be looking out for birds *under* the table. Thought it could outsmart me by reaching from below for my chocolate iced donut.

I’m on to you, bird.

Take your admittedly impressive eyeshadow, elsewhere.

Check out this happy lil dragon just out here chilling in the woods and not at all bothered by the rain

This chap wants to cut your hair.

A splendid mural seen outside Hammerhead Barbers, Caloundra, Queensland (apologies to the artist for slicing off their signature 😬).

Despair House is here to remind you that things can always get worse.

In the desert around the small town of Borrego Springs there stands dozens and dozens of sculptures by artist Ricardo Breceda.

From huge dragons to fearsome dinosaurs to this cheerful little anteater, it’s an absolute delight to spend a day or two hunting for these impressive statues.

Love the colours and the depth of this piece by Rosie Woods here in Noosa Junction!

In Southeast Queensland there is a factory that processes ginger but it also a theme park (the theme is “ginger”) but it is also an art gallery where the art is dozens and dozens of umbrellas strung up between the trees.

There’s a short path behind the beach at Titahi Bay that has these four carved wooden figures that celebrate Māori and Western explorers (the latter being controversial choices, judging from the vandalism of the information plaques).

It was quite delightful to find these carvings on the track that I mostly used to go to the shops. Adds a bit of flair to the everyday.
