Federal judge invalidates DOJ records probe of Walz, other Minnesota leaders
A judge has short-circuited an investigation into Gov. Tim Walz, Attorney General Keith Ellison and other Minnesota leaders targeted for scrutiny by the Department of Justice. A set of subpoenas was thrown out with the judge declaring them to be baseless.
The chief judge of Minnesota's federal district court rules that the DOJ's grand jury subpoenas of Gov. Tim Walz, and other state and local officials were "a blatantly unlawful and unethical use the grand-jury process."
He said that the DOJ investigation was clearly intended to "harass political opponents or to coerce them into taking official action - particularly official action that the federal government cannot directly require those political opponents to take" and struck down the subpoenas.

I write to express my dismay and anger at your continued attacks on good public servants of Minnesota, like Governor Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison.
Your attacks are purely political, and are based on grossly exaggerated claims of fraud in the state. No objective journalistic analysis has come close to the $9 billion in fraud that you repeatedly claim. The Star Tribune, which analyzed real data, found on the order of $217 million in fraud.
Furthermore, Minnesota has been aggressively pursuing fraudsters, a fact which you disingenuously ignore.
Furthermore, Republicans have a track record of divestment of public agencies providing basic social services under the myth that the private sector is more efficient. Republicans also have opposed adequate funding for government oversight of public grants to the private sector.
I see through your charade, and I don’t like what I see.
