The Wall of Awful phrase and concept (though not experience) is new to me. Looked it up. Watched an intro vid from the adhd collective org, probs will deep dive today. Sharing in case it might help someone else too.

Breaking Down Tasks - Part One - Why We Struggle — The ADHD Collective

The ADHD Collective

@malcircuit Thank you for the useful term #WallOfAwful I was not aware of. I know the feeling but I don't think I have #ADHD.

I just searched the web for this term and read that it affects people on the autistic spectrum, too.

How does it relate to #procrastination, something most creative people, students and white-collar workers seem to grapple with? Is it basically the same but worse?

My brain still works in the same speed as my old tabletop computer. I got so used to the lagging, that I still associate opening PC up with that lag, which creates a Wall Of Awful to opening it up to do things.

So everytime I do manage to open the new one, I am surprised how fast it is no matter what I am doing.

Hopefully I'll learn to associate PC with SPEEEED and erase that wall of awful soon. :P

My phone is only 2 years old but it takes awful pictures - which is the main reason why I have a Wall Of Awful for taking social media pictures.

(Tho selfies I don't take due to dysphoria...yet!)

Sure some people are ace, some people are celibate, some people are abstinent.

But over in the #NeurodiverseSquad we also have RSD and #WallOfAwful-s to climb to get into bed which isn't an orientation or a choice but an epic challenge others shrug at, please understand us. x.x
