After riding her mech up the mountain, and riding it back down again, she stopped to enjoy a hot chocolate in a beautiful public park.
The background is based on a photo I took in Kyoto of Maruyama park after a snow.

Trying to get a feel for this mech design. The company that makes the grocery cart mechs saw how many people were stealing them and modifying them for other uses, and decided to fulfill that need themselves.
It's still really cheap, but has stronger motors and a bigger battery than the grocery carts. Its also just a lot less janky than a modified cart. No drafts in the winter, no leaks in the rain, etc.
(This isn't the 90s girl's mech, just the same mass produced model).
Started coloring in the background mechs today. This guy took home a grocery cart mech and customized it, adding a bumper, lights, a canopy, and of course turning the basket into a cockpit.
If we're going to help people get around locally under their own steam, we need to tackle the severance created by urban trunk roads. The woman here waiting to cross half of a 50mph.dual carriageway.
This, a TfL road where Outer London is the forgotten piece of the active travel jigsaw.
Walkers are Welcome in Newton Stewart was featured in the recent Walking World newsletter
"We have found some very pleasant walking immediately around the town of Newton Stewart itself and in the forests and on the coast nearby. There are also some fabulous historical sites close by, such as the Neolithic chambered tombs at Cairn Holy."
