#WritersCoffeeClub 6/19. What’s your opinion on writing which seeks to imitate a cinematic style?

I think my writing is excellent. (ahem)

I wouldn't say I "seek to imitate", just that it simply is cinematic - because that's what I see in my mind when I'm writing.

As is most of my 3D render work.

#wotw I learned my lesson to use rsync when copying over Docker volumes instead of cp, and now we have our images back. And now we're finally on an SSD, so things should be very speedy. So speedy that I might be able to add more services, hmmm...

Joking aside, because I've got both HZ and Matrix, I was thinking of adding LDAP so you can have single-sign-on for both. Dunno if anyone is interested in that.

#wotw vacuuming my Matrix postgres seemed to solve a ton of issues. At least, fingers crossed, but after a day of sluggishness so bad it was preventing logins, now everything seems snappy.

#ScribesAndMakers 4/16. How do you feel about illustrations in (non-comic) books?

On the one hand, I really like the idea and that was one reason I started doing monochrome erotic illustrations.

On the other hand, I don't like forcing my own image of the characters on my readers.

On the other other hand, Bookfunnel are now allowing additional item downloads with any books they're delivering so you can give people extra stuff - including pictures.

And on the final hand, I can't do it for most of my fantasy books because there is no 3D model of a feathered wyvern, which is beyond frustrating. (I've even offered people money to make one.)

Finally got rid of Collabora, cuz I never use it, so #wotw should run faster now. Also installed more bridges that I use on the Matrix server. It's about as flaky as Hubzilla, but invites are available on request.

#wotw Got the Sable #Matrix instance running now, finally. The issue was Traefik. Also finding out that Floorp webapps are really good and makes me wonder why anyone would ever use Electron lol
