I finished checking the last audiobook in my Patterner's Path series. There are a few corrections but that's pretty much done.

And I started writing after a long break "The Damsel and the Mermaid" and have been creating a number of illustrations to go with it.

By not doing it. I only describe distinctive features if they are relevant to the story in which case it's as subtle as possible.

The only exception is if I'm writing something romance or romance-adjacent because it's a requirement. In this case I'll just be blunt about it - I never do the mirror trick.

Except for Veronica. It was absolutely essential the reader understand her physical deformity from the start so I did use the mirror thing right there, on the first page. Intentionally.

I'm so naughty.

No, I actually did get some writing in this month which I wasn't expecting (about 1000 words for a story I wasn't expecting to write), but mostly I've been working on my websites and slowly moving my books out of KU.

I had planned to do some more writing this weekend but then discovered a bug in my deployment code which took hours to nail down.

Well, what can I say? Yes, I still maintain a FB account but I engage only with other writers (a little), and belong to the "Artists Against Generative AI" group.

People post a lot of original art there - some are expert while many are just starting, but people always get lots of encouragement.

Which is nice.

Anyway I posted this image to that group and the crowd went wild. A clear demonstration of the FB algorithm, once it started winning it's just being put in front of *everyone*.

I hadn't done any alt text for it on FB, but now i'm going to have to. 🙃

#eroticMusings Week 40 (March 1-7) Studio: Where/how do you promote your erotica? Is it effective? How do you evaluate that?

It's pretty hard (ahem).

Mostly I promote in Bookfunnel promotions, although my erotica stories really aren't a good fit for most of them because my work is not kink-based.

I measure it by any sales I get.

I would add the series to my other regular promotions but I don't want to annoy folks with too many. And it needs to be better targeted.

I need to set up new channels with new accounts just for the erotic stuff - but that's not today.
