Hello!

If you are a #3DArtist, #3DAnimator, #3DModeler, #3DSculptor creating #3DArt, #3DModel and #3DSculpt using #Blender or #Maya or any other #3DSoftware, and are posting 3D content on #Loops and would like to be added to the 3D Artists and Animators #StarterKit please reply here, or simply @ me.

(This kit is not for 3D printing stuff, that's a different thing and should probably have it's own starter kit)

Blender adaptive subdiv stress test. Being able to preview displacement in eevee before rendering to cycles is a game changer for making sure nothing clips through geometry.

Well, what can I say? Yes, I still maintain a FB account but I engage only with other writers (a little), and belong to the "Artists Against Generative AI" group.

People post a lot of original art there - some are expert while many are just starting, but people always get lots of encouragement.

Which is nice.

Anyway I posted this image to that group and the crowd went wild. A clear demonstration of the FB algorithm, once it started winning it's just being put in front of *everyone*.

I hadn't done any alt text for it on FB, but now i'm going to have to. πŸ™ƒ

If only I'd posted a link to my books.

I know it's unusual for me to do some art that isn't cyberpunk, but after our fruitful research on the dress and poses of infosec experts (and how closely the Daz Cybersecurity Poses set matches the real world of Infosec workflow) I decided to do this completely factual artwork of how a Cybersecurity professional looks during their average workday.

(Okay, it's a joke based on a Toot I sent yesterday that probably 10 people will get)

"AI Music"

Revisiting an older render.

I want to get away from Photoshop, that I used for over 20 years, so my muscle memory and workflows are tied to it very much. Things I do in Photoshop in seconds take me minutes in other software. In addition I have some paid plugins that I want to still use in the future. I was suggested GIMP multiple times, but I cannot use GIMP, I tried it again and again for many, many years and I get aggressive after seconds using it. I think after all these years the UX is still horrible (ymmv). But I like Krita.

So: I first open the rendered image in RapidRAW as a replacement for Camera Raw to make basic postwork, that works great. Then I open the image in Krita and use some of the tools there. I installed a Krita plugin that is able to open a Krita layer in an external application. I Installed my Photoshop Plugins in Affinity 3. I do not want to use Affinity 3 itself extensively, because of Canva and their fishy licenses and AI bullshit. But as a plugin proxy I think it's okay. So I do the changes I want in Alien Skin Exposure X2, save the image and close Affinity, which brings the image back to Krita as a new layer. Great!

That is close to my Photoshop workflow without too much relearning, nearly as fast and in addition I found some very nifty features in Krita that I do not have in Photoshop.

So it may be possible for me to ditch Photoshop at last.

My take on the S.S. Botany Bay re-imagined.

Enjoy.

One of my past 3d models.

A post-dominion war Cardassian warship. Due to resources shortages after the war this smaller ship uses left over and salvaged parts from destroyed Galor warships.

Enjoy.
