The Madison Public Library made a tool to estimate the value you get out of your public library: https://www.madisonpubliclibrary.org/about/value

I guess it's specific to the Madison library, but I think the estimate is good for any US-based public library.

For my own usage, it tells me that for every tax dollar I pay that goes to the library, I get $10.63 in value. What a deal!

(Coincidentally, my family does a monthly donation to the Friends of the Verona Public Library fund...of $10!)

@LukeDiaz recently I've noticed around Verona that many of the flagpoles on city property have a pride flag along with the US and Wisconsin flags.

Ordinarily this wouldn't seem noteworthy, but in this political climate, flying such a flag is...potentially provocative.

That said, I'll go on record as fully supporting having the city fly pride flags.

Biking a scenic shortcut through Badger County Park to get to school pickup.

I was admittedly out of breath from the hills, but it’s still better than cycle gutters along the 45mph Cross Country Road.

I work at Epic, which is famous for having goofy, themed buildings; in particular we have "Wizards' Academy" which is totally not Hogwarts, and an alley between two of the buildings there, which is totally not Diagon Alley.

Being a tech/software company, they did make some of the fake businesses very appropriate...I would definitely shop at Boolean's...

A non-standard accessory for this morning's commute. @LukeDiaz, there's LOTS of broken glass on the streets -- Aspen Ave, Nine Mound Road, Meister Drive, and so on. Is there street sweeping planned?

I'm thinking of getting a group of cyclists to clean up broken glass from the streets. Maybe I'd call it the Anti-Deflation League.
