Milan, integration of Sasom in Ala begins
Milan, May 27 (Adnkronos) - The integration of Società Ambiente del Sud-Ovest Milanese (Sasom) into Aemme Linea Ambiente (Ala), a fully public company active in the management of environmental services, is beginning. The acquisition and merger agreement of Sasom was signed today in Gaggiano, in the Milanese area.
The operation, approved by the shareholders' meeting last April 27th - Ala notes - represents another step in Ala’s industrial consolidation path and allows the company to expand its operational perimeter to 33 municipalities and approximately 385,000 residents served, through the integration of the eleven territories of the South-West Milanese previously managed by Sasom: Basiglio, Binasco, Casarile, Gaggiano, Gudo Visconti, Noviglio, Rognano, Rosate, Vermezzo with Zelo, Vernate and Zibido San Giacomo.
The integration will also bring approximately 80 employees and 60 vehicles into the company’s perimeter, strengthening the company’s operational capacity and facilitating a more coordinated management of waste collection and urban hygiene services. Industrially, the new structure - it is explained - “aims to overcome managerial fragmentation through the rationalization of logistical processes, the organization of shifts, the management of the vehicle fleet and maintenance activities, with the goal of generating economies of scale and greater operational efficiency to the benefit of the municipalities and the served territories”.
The expansion of the industrial size will also allow Ala to support its industrial plan, accelerating investments destined for the renewal of the fleet, the introduction of digital tools for monitoring operational processes and the evolution of collection systems, with the aim of improving the quality of selective collection and strengthening circular economy models.
