On the way back I pass Cappadocia. The rock formations and cave towns are extremely fascinating. They attract millions of tourists every year. And this with a very bad footprint because most of them arrive by plane and discover the area on site by hot air balloon or on a quad bike (picture). The mare and her foal have no choice but to flee. I also say goodbye to this area after a day.

Auf der Rückreise komme ich in Kappadokien vorbei. Die Felsformationen und Höhlenstädte sind extrem faszinierend. Sie locken jährlich millionen von Touristen an. Und dies mit einem sehr schlechten Fussabdruck weil die meisten mit dem Flugzeug anreisen und vor Ort mit dem Heissluftballon oder auf einem Quad (Bild) die Gegend entdecken. Der Stute und ihrem Fohlen bleibt nur noch die Flucht. Auch ich verabschiede mich nach einem Tag von dieser Gegend.

In Serhat in der Westtürkei besuchten wir Aktivist*innen die erfolgreich eine Goldmine in ihrer Nachbarschaft verhindert hatten. Zehntausende Bäume wurden aber bereits gefällt.
