Urangan Pier

This pier used to extend over a kilometer from the shore, to reach deep water vessels to allow for the transport of sugarcane.

Now however, it reaches a "mere" 800 meters

We’re currently in Australia for a visit and one of the things we enjoy doing here is going for walks on the #Urangan Pier at night.

It’s pretty long – 868 metres – so it’s a popular fishing spot and makes for a nice walk, particularly when the moon’s up over the bay.

Right at the end there were two guys fishing and we overheard their Taiwanese accents, so we said hello and they were just as surprised as we were to run into another Taiwanese person! 🎣😀
