"Il 26 giugno 1987 è entrata in vigore la Convenzione delle Nazioni Unite contro la tortura e altre pene o trattamenti crudeli, inumani o degradanti (#UNCAT), uno degli strumenti chiave per combattere la tortura.
Per celebrare questa data storica, l'Assemblea generale delle Nazioni Unite ha designato il 26 giugno di ogni anno come Giornata Internazionale a sostegno delle vittime della tortura.

Nei Territori palestinesi occupati (OPT), #Israele continua a ricorrere alla tortura e a trattamenti o punizioni crudeli, inumani e degradanti (#CIDTP) contro i palestinesi.
La legge israeliana giustifica l'uso di tecniche di tortura con il pretesto della "necessità". ⬇2

ICUJP's "Close Guantanamo Now" protest rally will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the Downtown LA Federal Building, 300 N. Los Angeles St. (90012). It will feature speakers from the human rights community and a tableau of kneeling, orange-jumpsuited and black-hooded detainees.
