#Asteroid #Sar2667 impacted at 02:59 UT this morning, over the English Channel. It was solid cloud here in Oxfordshire but all 4 of our #RaspberryPi #MeteorCameras caught the flash through cloud. We detected so many #Geminids across the #UKMeteorNetwork last night that Mark had to run the solver twice. The total number of matched detections was around 2,200!! The detection rate was over 300 per hour around 3am; that's absolutely mental! #Geminids2022 #MeteorShower #meteors #RaspberryPiMeteorCamera

Its 11 days till the #Geminids #meteor shower peaks. Realistic rates are 20 per hour in clear skies but a waning crescent Moon bleaching the sky a bit. Then the #Ursids peak two days before Christmas, with a likely rate of 10. No moon for this one. #MeteorShower #PopAstro #UKMeteorNetwork
