I forgot to share the timelapse video links from our #meteorcameras yesterday. They're on my husband's YT channel, here's our SE facing camera video; this camera detected 184 #meteors! #Geminids #GeminidsMeteorShower #Geminids2022 https://youtu.be/zilVare3oWg

Our radio meteor detector heatmap shows that last night #Geminid rates were about half that of the previous night, but still a decent number. Haven't seen the meteor cam data or timelapses yet because they're still uploading #Geminids2022 #GeminidMeteorShower
We detected so many #Geminids across the #UKMeteorNetwork last night that Mark had to run the solver twice. The total number of matched detections was around 2,200!! The detection rate was over 300 per hour around 3am; that's absolutely mental! #Geminids2022 #MeteorShower #meteors #RaspberryPiMeteorCamera

So how was your #Geminids2022 observation? Mine was... Cloudy. 4th time in a row. Yey...

Anyway, the International Meteor Organization (IMO) provides a comprehensive article about this meteor stream.

If you still want to try to observe some meteors, take a look at live meteor radars. There you can't see, but hear them! #space #science #astronomy #Astrodon #meteorshowers

Viewing the Geminid Meteor Shower in 2022 | IMO

Michel Deconinck drew this watercolor from Geminid meteors observed on the morning of December 14, 2021, from Artignosc-sur-Verdon, France. Notice how all of these Geminid meteors are parallel and shoot from one point in the sky. This is what one would see if facing directly at the radiant for several hours. © Michel Deconinck The most…

The #GeminidsMeteorShower peak was around 03:00UT this morning. Despite partly cloudy skies we detected hundreds of #meteors across our 4 #RMS cameras + over 1,200 matched events across #UKMON! Here are the track-stacks #Geminids #MeteorShower #Meteors #Geminids2022 #RaspberryPiMeteorCamera
