American political commentator Tucker Carlson announced that he has definitively ended his support for the Republican Party, describing the party's backing of Israel and military operations against Iran as "a betrayal" and "immoral." He argued that the party is placing foreign interests above the interests of American citizens.

The break comes amid his growing frustration with the policies of the US administration under Donald Trump, particularly what he described as US involvement in the war with Iran, which he said is being conducted based on what is "best for Israel."

Speaking on the program Can't Be Censored, Carlson said he had been a loyal supporter of the Republican Party for 35 years, but declared: "There is no way I can support the Republican Party. I'm completely out."
