Media regulator Aus Communications and Media Authority (#ACMA) will gain new powers to:
📑 impose a compulsory code of conduct against misinformation on digital platforms;
🔎gather info to assess how platforms respond to misinformation & disinformation

These powers will not apply to professional news & authorised electoral content. Therefore, this change will not solve many of the issues raised by Zali Steggall in her #TruthInPoliticalAdvertising bill
