There was a special “je ne sais quoi” that emanated from the man. He demanded respect and was greatly admired for his integrity, intelligence & statesmanship.

Unofficially this act launched #TrudeauMania as Pierre Elliit Trudeau steps into broad public awareness. Trudeaumania was the term used throughout 1968 to describe the excitement generated by Trudeau who was mobbed like The Beatles whenever he appeared in public.
