Good Morning #Canada
My wife and I are leaving today for a 12 day trip to Europe so posts, boosts, snark, yelling at clouds and immature jokes will be scarce. My daughter is house sitting but she has defied my command to join Mastodon, so don't expect any pics of Harley and Casper.
The final 3 in the #CanadaRivers countdown will have to wait until I return, I'd advise that if you use the Google you'll spoil the suspense.

It's kind of incredible, considering my passion for the #Beaver, but today I nearly forgot that it's International Beaver Day. Celebrate responsibly.

Canadian beekeepers depend on the arrival of up to 300,000 queen bees every year from countries like Italy, Chile and USA to supplement domestic demand, according to #StatsCan. That's because Canada has been dealing with a sustainability problem where honey bee colonies have been dying at unsustainable rates for over a decade. New research conducted by the U of Guelph hopes to change that.

Gut health is the key to a resilient queen bee, say Guelph researchers

Researchers at the University of Guelph hope their work will reduce Canada's dependency on importing queen bees by better understanding their gut health. Brendan Daisley, a postdoctoral fellow at the university, says Canada imports up to 300,000 queen bees every year to meet domestic demand. He says understanding the gut health of domestic queen bees could hold answers to a colony's overall resiliency.

On April 5, 1932, the Colonial Building riot occurred in front of the Colonial Building in St. John's, Newfoundland. Prompted by the Great Depression and corruption in the Squires administration, a peaceful protest degenerated into riots and violence. The riots led to the fall of the Squires government and the defeat of Squires's Liberal Party in the ensuing election.
The link below has 2 reports from the day after.

We have arrived at the top 5 in the #CanadaRivers. The Slave River flows for 2,338 km from the Peace River in Alberta to Great Slave Lake in the Northwest Territories. The river's name is thought to derive from the name for the Slavey group of the Dene First Nations, Deh Gah Gotʼine, in the Athabaskan languages. The river is home to the northernmost river pelican colony in North America and their sanctuary is closed to humans from Apr 15 to Sep 15.

In theory every Friday is a #GoodFriday because it leads to a weekend for most of us. Good Friday is determined by #EasterSunday, which is celebrated on the 1st Sunday after the first full moon in spring (after March 21st). Totally logical.
According to the last #StatsCan census over 29% of Canadians identify as Catholic, although only approximately two thirds attend church regularly.

For lucky #7 on our countdown of #CanadaRivers we return to the Saskatchewan River. Including its tributaries, the North and South Saskatchewan rivers, the total length reaches 1,939 km until it drains into Lake Winnipeg. The river, like the province of Saskatchewan, takes its name from the Cree word kisiskāciwani-sīpiy, meaning "swift flowing river", and provided an important route of transportation for First Nations.
