I told him I don't do voice modes very much because my voice doesn't match my name. He asked "What do you mean?" I told him that I don't sound like a Juliet and sometimes that makes people cranky.
He said, basically, that sounds like their problem not mine. I appreciated hearing that from an OM.

I mentioned to one of the volunteers at my community theater group that I heard he has a Hawaii call sign and he spent the next hour telling me about how he got his license, working in broadcast TV, growing up in Milwaukee, and some history about my new town.
It went pretty much as expected.
I've been trying so hard to talk to people the last two weeks. It's been difficult but rewarding.

@julie it sucks that in the US that we even need to have a PO BOX just to "hide" our address from the public with the FCC 😞
thankfully, mine isn't too far away from me and I use it for more than just ham radio related things
Aw, shoot. My post office box, which I only use for my ham radio license address, got closed because I forgot to pay the renewal. Guess I've got to get a new one and then update my license...
