One US-American in top ten of Tour Divide right now. And he's literally in 10th place. The top 5 are all Europeans (all already finished). The others are from Ecuador, 2x Canada, and Israel. 😮
Congrats to Victor Bosoni on winning the #TourDivide and setting a new FKT with an absolutely blisteringly fast ride. Incredible pace and endurance.
samVictor Bosoni is less than 100km from the finish line in #tourdivide. He has a massive lead on Laurens Ten Dam and Angus Young in 2nd and 3rd place and after those 2 is a big gap again to 4th.
Victor can't lose, but Angus can still catch Laurens and beat him to 2nd. This is ultra racing, it's not decided in a sprint, it's not decided by watts per kilo on a single climb, it's about sleeping strategy. If you are stationary for less time than your opponent you generally win.

PS: Not quite sure what's Victor's correct time. Trackleaders shows a little more for the race timer itself, but I think they started in waves, and above time is the sum of what Trackleaders shows as his stopping time and moving time. 🤔

I rode in 2011 and remember day after day of headwind. I am on the right of this photo at the start.
