Being self-employed, I have the worst boss ever. She's always giving me way more work than is physically possible in the time allowed, and coming up with ever-stupider ideas of new stuff I should also somehow be finding time to work on.
But today, for once, she's allowed me a day off! Well, mostly off, but I'll take it.
Spending it trying to add a new minigame to my atrocious #ToucanDoIt #GameJam submission, 'cos they extended the deadline so why not.
You would think that, as one gains experience in something like #GameDev, one's standards for what's acceptable would increase.
But nah. I just submitted a project to a #GameJam that is a "collection" of minigames with only one minigame in it.
That minigame is basic, goes nowhere, has no music or graphics, and basically just involves clicking on two squares and seeing if the pictures match.
Still, it's fun to make something super smol for a change. Highly recommend!
Maaaaay have secretly spent the weekend doing a very casual solo attempt at #GGJ, as a means to make progress towards another longer jam I'm in!
Technically this plan worked a treat, as I now have a fully functional game...
...except in the actual build, where there is a critical bug I cba to spend the next half hour stressing over 🤦♀️
So I won't actually be submitting it to GGJ but on the bright side I'm nailing it for the longer jam 😎

It's perfect. Very small scale, very flexible rules, and a very long deadline. So I can join in with their lovely little community now, and actually get round to making a smol game once I'm feeling healthier!
Definitely recommend if anyone else is looking for a jam without any of the stress.
