Tony Greenstein in centre-right Jerusalem Post, “he will fight Green Party suspension”.
The centre right Jerusalem Post normally publishes articles such as this: Am I a Zionist? Why Zionism must remain broader than politics – opinion
Zionism has never been a single, monolithic idea. From the beginning, it has encompassed multiple strands. April 2026.
It is a surprise, and one not widely advertised by the dapper gent himself, to see them give sympathetic coverage to Tony Greenstein. The person who stood, in 2005 in Brighton Pavillion for the Alliance for Green Socialism (188 votes), who was “In 2018, was expelled from the Labour Party for “harassment” and “abusive language” (there is a lot to say on this) and , over allegations of antisemitism.”
Before the present brouhaha about his suspension from the Green Party there was this: “In this context, then, it is entirely relevant to mention that Mr Greenstein has criminal form for brazen deception, having past convictions for credit card theft and subsequent use, vandalism, drug possession and a number of other petty crimes.” 2021, Court of Appeal rules on defence of malice in defamation proceedings and upholds judge’s findings.
Now:
Anti-Zionist Jewish activist Tony Greenstein tells ‘Post’ he will fight Green Party suspension. Jerusalem Post.
“He hypothesized that his suspension resulted from him being the “most prominent of the Jewish anti-Zionists who joined the Green Party.”
“I don’t complain about being singled out. I hope that the process stops with me since it is contrary to natural justice and the facts,” he added.
Tony Greenstein, suspended from the Green Party over antisemitism allegations, disputes the accusations in an interview with The Jerusalem Post, vowing to retain his membership.”
“In an email to the Green Party, Greenstein wrote that he “predicted” that lies and smears would begin against him after he weighed in on the Green Party’s “Zionism is Racism” debate. This, as previously covered by the Post, involved a motion that would have ruled Zionism as racism within the party.
The motion was, however, sabotaged via filibustering at the recent party conference and therefore was never voted on – to Greenstein’s chagrin. He soon after wrote an article called “The only form of racism that matters is Zionism racism.”
Greenstein did acknowledge that he has an upcoming trial date on August 18 under the Terrorism Act 2000 but said he is pleading “not guilty.”
“There is no basis to my suspension,” he said, adding that the party is “acting on behalf of supporters of the Gaza genocide.”
