My thinkpad x1 carbon usb c charger was playing up, would only work one way. I decided to investigate the usb c port. After cutting the rubber and the metal shell off it I found it has 3 wires. VCC=Red GND=Black and a blue wire labeled C. Cut and desoldered the old connection and resoldered fresh ends. Think it was the blue wire that had failed originally #usbC #thinkpadx1

Finally decided to dig our my sticker collection and put them on my "new" laptop. Can't believe how many oshpark stickers I've got. Put the four shinnys I've got on it #oshpark #hackaday #thinkpadx1
