Francis Galton made key insights that drove the development of statistics. He also invented eugenics and had a lot of deeply racist beliefs.
Richard Feynman was a frickin' genius in like 5 different fields. He was also a bit coercive/rapey in his treatment of women.
LIzzo is an amazing artist and... yeah, Lizzo.
Don't we all know (or maybe embody) someone who is not particularly brilliant but is a good person?
And there people who have skills and knowledge galore as well as (probably) being basically good people, like Neyman, Hedy Lamar, Weird Al, Jonas Salk.
My point: Morality and expertise are not related. As a culture we have a very hard time remembering that, even though we almost always agree when it's pointed out.
TL;DR: Four cells of two independent effects:
- Good person, unskilled
- Good person, skilled
- Bad person, unskilled
- Bad person, skilled
