A dicembre 2025, il generale Eyal Zamir, Capo di Stato Maggiore delle Forze di Difesa Israeliane, ha visitato Gaza e definito la Linea Gialla «una nuova linea di confine». Il testo del cessate-il-fuoco del 10 ottobre, siglato da Qatar, Egitto, Turchia e Stati Uniti, usa la parola «temporanea». La parola «confine» non compare.
Secondo immagini satellitari analizzate da AP e Christian Science Monitor, i blocchi di cemento giallo vengono spostati di notte, talvolta centinaia di metri oltre le mappe firmate, senza preavviso. A dicembre Haaretz aveva già documentato il riposizionamento verso ovest. Al Jazeera e UNRWA stimano che Israele controlli il 53-58 per cento della Striscia, incluso l’unico valico con l’Egitto. Due milioni di persone occupano il perimetro «sicuro», che si restringe settimana dopo settimana.
Da ottobre 2025, AP documenta almeno 80 palestinesi uccisi nei pressi della Linea Gialla, tutti definiti dal portavoce IDF «terroristi che si erano avvicinati alle forze». Il cessate-il-fuoco non è mai stato sospeso né concluso. Funziona come cornice che certifica la pace mentre produce lo spostamento di un confine che nessun accordo ha autorizzato. Zamir lo chiama confine. Il testo firmato lo chiama ancora temporaneo.

The ceasefire has never been suspended nor concluded. It functions as a framework that certifies peace while producing the displacement of a border that no agreement authorized. Zamir calls it a border. The text signed still calls it temporary.
