A ★★★½ review of The Tall T (1957)

I used to LOVE these kind of westerns but something happened and that "something" was Deadwood. It made all the classic westerns all look squeaky clean and preachy. Blue skies, trimmed mustaches, neat haircuts, pearly white teeth and manly men politely tipping their hats. Even the tougher ones just came off as Michael J. Fox when he walks into the saloon in Back to the Future III in that white fringe jacket and calls himself Clint Eastwood. This got all of that... but it also got Elmore Leonard, child killers, sweaty backs and fucking Henry Silva. There is nothing squeaky
