The last time I bought #coffee was January 3, when I paid $16.98 for a 40 oz. bag of beans, or 42.5¢/oz, for Eight O'Clock The Original Whole Bean.

Today, the same coffee is $20.12 for a 30 oz. bag, or 67¢/oz. That's an increase of 58% in just over 3 months. It is no longer available in 40 oz. bags, at all.

#Australian #primeminister Anthony Albanese just gave a national address to ensure #Aussies that the #middleeast #crisis is kinda bad but hey, "the Australian way" will fix it.

They cut the #fuel excise in half (we paid ~AUD$80 for some 27L of #diesel the other day) & eliminated the heavy vehicle tax for truckies for 3 mths.

He also ominously said that Aussies should "take the train or bus more often" - which after 10+ yrs in this country, is setting off alarm bells for me.
